“A talebearer reveals secrets, But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.” Proverbs 11:13 (NKJV)

Notice it says a talebearer reveals secrets. What is a talebearer? Well, Talebearer is someone who tells us tales and they love telling tales. They find out what your secrets are, and they tell those particular secrets to people who are around them. The next thing you know, people start gossiping about you. That is why the bible warns us about Talebearers!

The Bible tells in Proverbs 20 verse 19a (NKJV) “He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets;” ... What are secrets? This is when you tell people something very, very confidential and you confide in this particular person. However this particular person is telling everything you have told them to other people and when that gets back to you, that hurts that’s why it says it goes deep into a person. That hurts because you thought that you could confide in that particular person, but it turned out to be you could not confide in that particular person. And it continues here …“Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips. [Proverbs 20 verse 19b (NKJV)]. He goes about as a talebearer, clearly reveals secrets.

One of the things you must learn to do is, to be very careful in whom you share your secrets with. Those particular things that are hurting you are just confidential information. You know, you can always tell a talebearer, because the talebearer will come to you, and tell you the secrets of other people.

People have a tendency to like to listen to gossip. Well, don’t gossip because if they‘re telling you secrets of other people, then what you’re telling them is going out too. Have you ever thought about that?

I know this one particular person and this person is always telling secrets. Secrets about other people, and then one particular day, a close friend of hers who confided in her found out that she was telling her secrets to other people. So that particular relationship broke up, broke up in a very, very, very bad manner because that person had trust that the person would not tell. In actual fact, what did that person do, but tell, tell, tell. That is why the Bible tells us, “Beware of talebearers”

Don’t tell all your businesses. One of the things the talebearer does is dig deep to find out your businesses, they want to know EVERYTHING, and if you tell them, everyone else will know EVERYTHING too. Many people have been hurt by talebearers. So God is saying to you today, be careful in what you’re telling a person, that person might be a talebearer!
